Voice of the
Niimiipuu (Nez Perce people)
KIYE, owned and operated by the Nez Perce Tribe, began broadcasting over the Nez Perce Reservation from our studios in Kamiah, Idaho on August 1, 2011. Our studios are located in Kamiah with our main transmitter located near Craigmont. We broadcast across the reservation aand far into the Nezperce and Clearwater National Forests.
KIYE’s focus is on developing
Niimiipuu language and storytelling programs, local public affairs,
news
and educational features. Our music includes local and national pow
wow, flute and other Native offerings; a daily blues/jazz program;
Oldies, Motown, Classic rock; and all Native Voice 1
programs.
To date, we locally produce three
programs: Northwest
Song Shack, that focuses on talent from the northwest, offering
writers and artists from the northwest that have not, as yet, been
“Discovered”,
Calling All Warriors, featuring contemporary native and on
native faith based selections, hosted by a past pastor of the First
Indian Presbyterian Church and Malt Shop Memory,
